Alariaq Shaa was born in Cape Dorset which is located on Baffin Island in Canada's high arctic. Being from a very well respected and noted artist family Alariaq is wellon his way to be an artist to watch out for as he continues to hone his craft.
Alariaq is the son of renowned Cape Dorset carver Axangayuk Shaa.
Eegeesiak Shoo was born in Lake Harbour, Nunavut (Kimmirut, Nunavut) in 1966, but now resides in Iqaluit, Nunavut. He is a proud father of three kids and talks highly of his mother Kodiago Shoo. Kodiago raised him to pray before carving, While his grandfather Johnny Kolola SR. taught Eegeesiak ( at age 7) and kodiago to carve. Eegeesiak exhibited his art in Montreal QC back in 2012. To this day he enjoys distributing his art to provide for his family.
Ningiukulu is the mother of four children and she presently is living in Cape Dorset. Ning learned her carving skills at a young age from her father. Her signature piece is the Inuksuk. Ning Quotes when asked what would you like to share with anyone looking to purchase your art. "I learned from my father, he taught me how to carve. I want people to know about my art that I create." Ning carves to support her family. Sometimes times are hard, but I put those hard times into my art.God created life the same way I create my art.
